Perfect place to stay. I strongly recommend The Hopi Tour with local Guide. The experience of getting know the Hopi Indian tradition is one of the best in my life. Very unique place.
The hotel rooms are clean but sparsely decorated. Television is delivered by satellite and can be spotty at times. The staff is friendly and attentive. Get your ice at the front desk who will retrieve it from the restaurant. The restaurant offers good variety. The Native dishes featuring fry bread and mutton should not be missed.
We didn't go into the museum but we did talk with the people who live there and learned about their arts and crafts plus ate lunch at the restaurant. Excellent food. I ordered the most popular dish which included sliced roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green chilies all on top of a blue corn frybread. I took half of it back to our condo. My husband tried the lamb and hominy stew which he said was good to experience but wouldn't order again.
Very good food! Would suggest having an authentic Hopi dish as it was very delicious. Several vendors on site as well, and I picked up a cool Kachina.
The best part was talking with the locals.
This is no 5 star hotel. But it is a unique experience. I am here several times a year.(work) . The sunrise is always worth getting up for. Thr people are always welcoming.
